Terms and Conditions
Please read these Terms before using SenteCheck. By installing and using the app, you agree to them.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By continuing past the welcome screen, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you use MTN and/or Airtel Uganda Mobile Money, and that you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.
2. What SenteCheck is
SenteCheck is an offline personal-accounting tool. It reads your own Mobile Money SMS on your device to help you see and organise your spending. It is not a bank, a payment service, a lender, or a financial institution, and it cannot move, hold, or access your money.
3. Not financial advice
This is the most important thing to understand:
The insights, estimates, forecasts, savings suggestions, bundle recommendations, loan-cost figures, and any other numbers SenteCheck shows are for information only. They are not professional financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
These figures are calculated automatically from your SMS and are best-effort estimates. They may be incomplete or wrong — for example if an SMS was missed, arrived late, was worded unusually, or was categorised incorrectly. Do not rely on them for important financial decisions without checking. Any decision you make is your own responsibility. For advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.
4. Accuracy
SenteCheck's SMS parsing is best-effort and may not capture every transaction correctly. Always treat your official MTN and Airtel records, and your actual account balances, as the source of truth. SenteCheck is a convenience tool, not an official statement of account.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your device secure (screen lock, biometrics) — this protects your data.
- Use the app lawfully and only with mobile-money messages that belong to you.
- Export a backup (Settings → Export) before uninstalling, changing phones, or deleting data. Because everything is stored only on your device, uninstalling or wiping the app permanently deletes your data and it cannot be recovered.
6. No warranty
SenteCheck is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. Your use of the app is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Uganda, the developer is not liable for any loss or damage — including financial loss, lost data, or missed or incorrect transactions — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or from reliance on any information it provides.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its name, and its design belong to the developer. These Terms do not give you any ownership of the app; you receive only a personal, non-transferable right to use it.
9. Availability and changes
The app is offered free of charge. Some features may in future be offered as optional paid upgrades; if so, any payment terms will be presented to you separately before you buy. The developer may update or discontinue the app, and may change these Terms in future releases. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using SenteCheck at any time by uninstalling it, which deletes your data from the device.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Ugandan courts.
